Ames Blueline Hockey Club
About Us (Vision) AMES BLUE LINE CLUB VISION The Ames Blue Line Hockey Club is an organization that was started to help grow and enhance the participation of current and former players, current and former parents and community members in events and activities related to the Ames Little Cyclones Hockey Program. The Blue Line Club was formally formed on April 9th 2009 with the election of five executive officers: Scott Elston, (President) Russ Moore, (Executive Vice President ) Todd Scebold, (Vice President- Membership) Chris Schmale, (Vice President- Media and Public Relations) and Gary Hunziker (Secretary and Treasurer). This election was preceded by two years of meetings and brain storming sessions between Gary Hunziker, Scott Elston, Chris Schmale, and others who were supportive in the idea of forming a Blue Line Club. The original vision of the Blue Line Club was to begin to collect data from alumni with the purpose of starting an alumni data base so current staff and players could re-connect with alumni, and ultimately re-connect alumni with the high school hockey program. In addition to re-connecting with the alumni the Blue Line Club wanted to restore and tell the history of the program complete with all of its traditions and accomplishments. One of the first steps in this process and the only formal function that the “unofficial club” served over the past two years (2007-2009) was to turn the alumni game into a primetime event, complete with uniforms, and alumni cup for the champions of the game, and social events after the game for alumni and family. As those goals continue to be achieved the grand vision for the now “official” Blue Line Club is to form a club, complete with membership dues and benefits, an official website and information data base complete with the program’s history, and current events, all with the purpose of organizing and promoting social events and activities for alumni and blue line club members. All proceeds from membership dues, event fees, and straight donations will go to the Blue Line Club with the sole purpose of helping support the Little Cyclones hockey Program. In addition the Blue Line Club will create an AMHA Hall of Fame, complete with criteria for being inducted. The annual Hall of Fame Induction and Banquet will be held during the Blue Line club Alumni Appreciation Weekend.  Join our alumni database today!
