Ames Blueline Hockey Club
Blue Line Club News Ocotber 29th 2011- Ames Little Cyclones Home Opener at 1:45, Quinns Quest Day On Ocotber 29th at 1:45 when the Little Cyclones open their home schedule all of Ames Minor Hockey will declare the day Quinn's Quest Day, in honor of Quinn Boylston and the Boylston Family. Quinn's 6 month battle with brain cancer ended in September, but his Quest goes on to find a cure and to inspire others with the disease. Pleae join the Little Cyclones and Ames Minor Hockey for a special pre-game ceremony to honor Quinn and the Boylston Family. On Saturday February 13th during a thrilling 3-2 overtime win against Sioux City in Ames, the Blue Line Club inducted their first ever lifetime member.
The Ames Blueline Club Life Time Membership Award was created to honor and recognize an individual who has given support and guidence to Ames Hockey and the Blueline Club in many different ways.
The first ever honoree is Boone native Jeff Larson:
Jeff is the father of current Little Cyclone goaltending Coach Curvin Larson, and an Iowa State Alumni. Jeff lives in Rocton Illinois and has been heavily involved with the high school hockey program at Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, Wisconsin. (Head Coach Chris Schmale's Alma mater) Jeff has been actively involved in the youth hockey Association, serving on its board, but also serving on the Blue Line Club of Beloit's Board, as it's President, Past President and now Secretary. The Beloit Blue Line Club is dedicated to the support of Beloit Memorial High School Hockey.
When the idea of the Ames Blue Line Club was launched, Jeff made several personal trips to Ames to be a part of the intial meetings, and has continued to share information and give support to our club as we continue to try and grow and support the hockey program in Ames.
For his continuing dedication to the hockey program in Ames and the support of the Blue Line Club Jeff was selected to be a lifetime member.
Between the first and second period of the Sioux City game Blue Line Club President; Scott Elston, Executive Vice President; Russ Moore, Vice President of Membership; Todd Scebold, Secretary; Gary Hunziker and Head Coach Chris Schmale presented Jeff with his Lifetime Membership Award, which included a personalized plaque, along with a plaque that will be displayed in the rink trophy case with Jeff's name and all future award winners.
Congratulations Jeff on your award, and thank you for all your support and dedication to Ames Hockey and hockey in General.
